I remember as a young girl, given a summer job of caring for a stable horse. His name was Calipso, a handsome fellow, black as night and tall although I must have been just a young lass of 10? I was to feed and clean his stall and brush him everyday... my reward was to ride him, which I did almost everyday. I can easily recall the feeling of splendor as we walked down the streets of my small home town.. I felt  complete and happy beyond words. My heart was full and content and he was gentle and carried this wee girl on his back with kindness and understanding.I fell in love that week.. one I would never forget. Through the years  I rode trail horses, friends horses, was bucked off and even held on with all my might on a runaway horse.. although I loved them.. I did grow to fear there large statute...I seem to forget the feeling of splendor... although I wished I may own one one day. I am older now and have been blessed with two new friends, two geldings "Tom and Smarty". These two magnificent creatures have taught me so many things patience, trust, courage and more love then I thought possible. I am an artist and I created this acrylic painting of my favorite friends on a spectatcular sunset evening. This is also my first blog and I am sure my grammar is awful, lol but thanks for reading.
Cheers
Rachel
